Ivey and Dwan Face-off Over Million Dollar Pot

by Dan Moore February 1st, 2010

Watch the million dollar hand (video courtesy of YouTube.com)

We all know the top pros play high stakes poker all the time and throw thousands of dollars around like it’s just a bunch of chips. But it’s still pretty amazing to watch some big names face-off over a really, really big pot.

In the latest episode of the Million Dollar Cash Game, Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey got into it when both of them turned straights. When they were both done pushing money in, the pot stood at a cool $1,108,500. Then they flipped their cards over to reveal that Dwan had a higher straight. The river changed nothing, and that was that.

It probably comes as no surprise to those who have watched Ivey play before, but check out his expression in the video. Even when he sees the cards and knows he’s drawing dead on a $1.1 million dollar pot, his expression doesn’t change one bit, which is probably why he’s known for having one of the best poker faces in the game.
