Final Suspect in EPT Berlin Robbery Arrested

Master criminals, these guys weren’t. Though the four guys allegedly responsible for the armed robbery of a European Poker Tour Berlin event did manage to get away with 242,000 Euros in loot, but they didn’t get long to enjoy it. The last of the four suspects in the spectacular heist has been arrested and is behind bars.
The wheels started coming off for the gang when the first suspect turned himself in last week. He identified three other men, and they were put on a wanted list. According to reports, two of the men fled the country, which seems like a pretty smart move. But in what seems like an honorable, though not as prudent, move, the two suspects promptly flew back to Berlin and surrendered to police.
As of right now, the Berlin police aren’t saying whether all the loot has been recovered. But with all four alleged criminals behind bars, it seems like only a matter of time before what’s left of the cash is found.
And in some unsurprising news, the upcoming European Poker Tour Austria event is promising tightened security at the tournament. Among other measures, they’ll have a number of plain-clothes cops hiding among the players and audience, just in case.
