APT Invitation Letter to Michael Phelps

The Casino City Times recently published the letter that the Asian Poker Tour (APT) sent to Michael Phelps asking him to come out to Macau for their upcoming tournament.
While it’s no surprise that the APT would invite Phelps, he’s a big poker fan and they invited him last year, what struck me was just how the letter was written. It’s pretty saucy and makes reference to Phelps’ pot smoking incident and promises to keep him on the straight and narrow while he visits Macau.
This jumped out at me as a poor way to entice a young man to an all expenses paid trip to a poker tournament in the casino capital of the world.
“Come on down! We’ll even chaperone you!”
OK, they didn’t say it quite like that, but it didn’t sound very enticing.
You can read the entire APT Michael Phelps invitation, or if you’d rather just play some Texas Holdem yourself, I know an online poker room that would be more than happy to give you a 110% sign up bonus.
